Fraction Problems

A generator of fraction problems. Choose the operation: addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. For adding and subtracting you pick fractions with the same or with different denominators, for example 2/3 + 1/4 = 11/12. Numerators and denominators are from 1 to 10, so improper fractions appear too. The answer is always in lowest terms, and subtraction never gives a negative number.

On the website you place the problems on an open-answer sheet such as a short test, or on cards with the problem on one part and the answer on the other. Every time you generate, you get new problems.

It suits pupils in lower secondary school who calculate with fractions. Choose like denominators for the first problems in Years 6 and 7 (5th and 6th grade).
