Fraction Puzzles

Twenty three-piece puzzles. The top piece shows the fraction in words, such as “two thirds”, the bottom left a circle with shaded parts and the bottom right the fraction 2/3. The set covers every fraction from 1/2 to 6/6. The puzzles come in three sizes: 1, 2 or 8 per A4 sheet, in colour or black and white, in English, Czech, Slovak and German.

Print the sheets and cut each puzzle into its three pieces. Children match the words, the picture and the number that belong to one fraction, then read the finished puzzle aloud. Start with halves and quarters and add the other families step by step. The small cards also work for memory and other fraction games.

Suited to grades 3 to 5, when children meet their first fractions and practise reading and writing them.
