Parts of Speech in Czech Sentences
A set of Czech sentences where the child identifies the part of speech of marked words and writes its number from 1 to 10, as Czech schools number them. In “Naše nová kočka včera chytila velkou myš.” (Our new cat caught a big mouse yesterday.) it is: nová 2, včera 6, chytila 5, myš 1. Unlike words on their own, the child sees each word in a sentence, so they can tell an adverb from an adjective. There are two levels; the second has longer and harder sentences. Altogether there are over 2,000 sentences.
On the website you place the sentences on a worksheet and add an answer key if you like. Every time you generate, different sentences are picked.
It suits Czech-speaking children from Year 5 (4th grade) who know all ten parts of speech, and older pupils revising.
