Subtraction Problems

A generator of subtraction problems with two numbers. Choose the range: up to 5, 10, 20, 100, 1000, 10 000 or a million. For most ranges you decide whether the problems cross the ten, do not, or are mixed, for example 13 – 5 = 8 crosses the ten. The answer is never negative.

On the website you place the problems on a worksheet in columns, with lines for working or as comparisons, and add an answer key if you like. They also go on cards such as memory or dominoes with the problem and its answer, or into multiple-choice questions. Every time you generate, you get new problems.

Ranges up to 5 and 10 suit preschoolers and Year 1 (kindergarten), larger numbers suit the rest of primary school.
