Times Tables in Words

A generator of times tables problems written in words, for example “triple 7”, “the product of 6 and 8” or “eight times 4”. There are three levels. The full table multiplies by 1 to 10. The harder level leaves out ones and tens, so both factors are from 2 to 9. The easiest level multiplies only by 2, 3 and 4, up to five.

On the website you place the problems on a worksheet and add an answer key if you like. They also go on game cards such as memory or bingo with the words and the answer, or into multiple-choice questions. Every time you generate, you get new problems.

It suits children from Year 3 (2nd grade) meeting the times tables, and later for word problems where multiplication hides in the words. The problems are written in Czech.
